Lincoln Elementary teacher Marc Kornblatt's love of music infects surrounding classrooms as you'll see in this music video set to the music of Stevie Wonder.

Behind the Scenes

"Shooting the Lincoln Sings video was a fun challenge. Marc Kornblatt approached our department with an idea to document his class's morning ritual of singing together: an infectious activity where Marc would bring his guitar room to room and sing with different classes. We decided it would be a great project to give people a look at the community at Lincoln Elementary.

The project was challenging in many ways. The first was to figure out how to tell the story effectively and efficiently. During story boarding, I made the choice to have all the classes assemble in one place instead of Marc traveling to each room- the resulting effect being a great big family picture of Lincoln. Little did I know Marc had charmed 5 other classes to join his own for the shoot! We had to move out all kinds of furniture to get nearly 100 people to fit!

The second was production. This was our first fully HD project, and making sure we had our gear working properly took a bit more attention than normal. It was also a music video, so we had to be careful about sync and matching pitch and tempo with our guitar track recording. But with Marc's enthusiasm and ability to engage the kids, the day went by flawlessly and was fun for everyone involved. It was a pleasure to work with flexible teachers and wonderful children! I think this project really reflects the sense of community that is shared at Lincoln Elementary."
